The Last time The King’s Will (Musa Okwonga’s ‘Poetronica’ Outfit) played a live rendition of their debut album As The Power Fails, (Poejazzi, December 2011) it was audio visual Tour De Force; fat bass, smart lyricism and probably the best costumes ever committed to a spoken word performance. Seriously, it was a good night.
Tonight, they’re doing it again at The Macbeth; launching their second album The Swords Are Coming, with Scroobius Pip as Support and Philip Levine (Lazy Grammaphone, CALM) on hosting, this will probably be another stormer of an event. Tickets cost £5 online and £10 on the door. It’s going to make your knees vibrate and your brain cremate. Do the clever thing: get involved.
