Only his second release of the year, Yomi aka G.R.E.E.D.S’ work rate and output has been exemplary; the summer’s Sampler #5 was a definite 2011 highlight (seriously: go check the Sampler Series if you haven’t already; the most underrated body of work since eba and okra soup).
The READY EP launch sees him collaborating with The Remedies, the UK’s answer to The Dap Kings -easily the most versatile band around, having supported a diverse line up of acts from Ed Sheeran, James Massiah, Mikill Pane to Kaana Ellie- for an accomplished palette of Live Hip Hop, Spoken Word and Soul. If you love tight, grooving music fronted by accessible, charismatic performances that move your feet, and your heart while impressing your brain all at the same time (like a Socrates-quoting tap-dancing penguin would, obviously) December 3rd at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen is where you are.
Tickets are £10. But if you pay an extra £2 in advance, you get the EP as well. You know what they call that round these parts? A FREAKING STEAL, BRUV. GRAB LIKE LOOT LIKE IT WAS (insert riot referencing joke here. Bring your own guffaw.)
BEHOLD! A TRACK FROM THE EP TO LISTEN TO!
