The London riots, incited by the police’s slow response to the death of Mark Duggan, generated much confused comment; liberals, conservatives and racists all threw in their oars, while politicians returned slowly (and, one suspects, sheepishly) from holiday. But – courtesy of @mattkmoore at the Telegraph – then came 46 seconds of genius from an anonymous West Indian woman in Hackney, who said it all so brilliantly that the matter is closed.
