END OF AN ERA: Inua Ellams Leaves Poejazzi

Hello everyone,

Yes, the headline speaks the truth; Inua, our graphic designer par excellence is leaving for the big seas (metaphorically, of course; Inua is not a fish, and hates fish. As food, of course) We asked him to sign off with a statement, which you will find lovingly copy and pasted below:

Joshua Idehen & Musa Okwonga are two of my closest friends. Over the years we co-ran Poejazzi to critical acclaim. We have sold out pubs, cabaret bars, mini theatres, ballrooms and twice, a huge purple cow. Poejazzi has been Time Out’s Critics Choice, five-star-reviewed at the Edinburgh Fest and many young poets have cut their teeth on the microphones we provided, but my run with Poejazzi has come to an end. We part on perfectly good terms, reasons are simply to do with creative differences and artistic directions. The guys will still be curating magnificent shows and the Poejazzi guest blogs are eye opening – {poejazzi.wordpress.com} – so please follow them, I will, and I hope to see you at the next Poe Show!”

And that’s it.

On behalf of Poejazzi, we would like to wish Inua the very best of luck on his future endavours. Not like he needs it, I mean, have you seen what he’s up to lately?
