YOTP: New Music from Mr Gee.

As if you needed any more proof that 2011 is the year of the poet (and if you really do, go find your stupid head a copy of Today’s Metro)  Chill Pill’s Mr Gee serves us two new blistering and very different pieces of music via his Soundcloud profile.

Exchanging Smiles:

This reminds me a lot of Jill Scott, back when she was very good, and when the hip hop drums snap in, you’re listening to England’s answer to Malik Yusuf’s ‘Would You Like To Ride’ via G.R.E.E.dS ‘There She Goes (again)’ Wow. Comparison overload. It’s basically Gee having an internal dialogue about chatting up a random girl. It’s ace. Like ‘I’d hear this on radio and make all sorts of ‘breath of fresh air’ noises ace.’ Have a List-tennnn!

Growing Up (Brighter Day Remix)

Warning: more comparisons ahoy: Imagine Ghostpoet producing the next single by King’s Will and you are not far off; brillantly gloomy melody finds Mr Gee at his cynical best. Gee is on mad form on both tracks (though this is definitely my fav). I cyant wait for more.
