You’re going to Camp Bestival, yes? OF COURSE YOU ARE. It’s going to be sunny (Please God Please) and it’s Poejazzi’s festival debut WOO HOO! And we will be hosting the spoken word tent at the behest of Scroobius Pip! Come Saturday, at a time hopefully not clashing with top acts such as Little Dragon, Happy Mondays and Hot Chip, (starting 16.45) you can witness possibly the tightest poetry line-up in 2012!
BRIDGET MINAMORE:
Ghana’s greatest living poet under 22 is marking her sophomore performance at the House of Poe. At once hilarious, insightful and just a little bit witty, a mish-mash of Girl-meets-Boy-Girl-Throws-Book-at-Boy, politics and haargen-daaz, Bridget is a bonafide rising star.
PAUL CREE!
Paul Cree has the ability to make you feel like it was you who discovered him, like he was speaking to only you when everyone else started clapping, bloody latecomers. An amazing storyteller, with turns-of-phrases to die for and an effortless rhyming flow. Check him below.
Alex Gwyther:
Possibly the closest thing spoken word has to an Alex Turner. In turns acerbic and emphatic, with a keen eye for Observation, Alex Gwyther headlines our knockout line up!
COME SEE US ON SATURDAY FROM 4PM.
